IN OFFICE GENERAL ANESTHESIA

Financial Arrangements for General Anesthesia in the Dental Office

Dental insurance often does not cover anesthesia services. Sometimes they will tell you that they do cover "anesthesia for dental treatment" however they do not mean general anesthesia administered by an M.D. Anesthesiologist. They typically are referring to IV sedation provided by a dentist (such as an Oral Surgeon).

Medical insurance companies may reimburse for general anesthesia administered by an M.D. Anesthesiologist in the dental office. Our anesthesia group will attempt to collect payment from your medical insurance company; however, you are responsible for paying the anesthesia fees up front. Any reimbursement from the insurance company will be refunded to you. Please note that payment from medical insurance companies can take six months or more to be received.

Our Anesthesia Group requires a non-refundable deposit toward the anesthesia fee. This deposit is equal to half of the total fee for the anesthesia services and is due prior to scheduling.

The remainder of the anesthesia fee as well as the estimated patient portion for the dental treatment provided is due in full on the day of the appointment. Payment may be made in the form of cash, Visa, Mastercard, CareCredit, or moneyorder. No personal checks will be accepted.
